What is Rose Attar?

Rose Attar is a natural perfume oil extracted from rose petals via the traditional steam distillation method.  It has a pale yellow color.

What does Rose Attar smell like?

Rose Attar has a very pleasant floral aroma, similar to what we get from a rose flower. The aroma is more soothing to our body than any other floral attar. It is also quite refreshing to keep you energized for the whole day. This is because it has a bit of minty touch also.

You might find its scent strong for the first few minutes after applying it but later it starts lingering around you. This moderates the scent making it more comforting for regular usage.

The rose used to our rose attar oil make is a special hybrid called ‘Damask Rose’ (Rosa Damascena). It is also known as Arab or Bulgarian Rose. The petals are pink in color, not red. They are cultivated in the northern parts of Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan in India.

How is it made?

Rose Attar is made with the steam distillation process. The petals of rose flowers are collected in jute bags from a nearby rose harvest. They are plucked in early morning to retain the natural oil inside it.

The petals are separated and poured into a big copper pot (Deg) and distilled for hours to obtain their essence. This is collected into a small container (Bhapka). This complete process is also known as the ‘Deg and Bhapka’ method.

We make them at our distillers in Kannauj by using only the best quality rose flowers. We only offer pure Kannauj Rose Attar to all our customers. Around 3 to 5 kg of petals are required to extract 1ml of this attar oil.

What is it used for?
