What does it smell like?

Lilly Attar has a pleasantly sweet aroma. Quite refreshing in short! If it is your first-time attar shopping, this might be one of the best beginner-friendly attars in the market. Its fragrance is softer than other floral attars but still sweet to linger around you.

How is it made?

The process starts with collecting the finest quality Lilly flowers. They are brought to our manufacturing plant in Kannauj, the perfume city of India.

Lilly or Lillium is a flowering plant grown in a northern temperate climate. It belongs to the Liliaceae family. They can grow up to 3 to 6 feet and bears larger white flowers. They usually bloom in late summers but must be kept watered during the growing season.

 

Lilies stand as a symbol of love, purity, and vitality. In Victorian floriography, they signified warmth and happiness. You will find it a lot of times in ancient literature, modern love stories, and spirituality.

The flowers are then put in a big pot filled with water. This pot is heated from the bottom using a natural fire from cow dung. It produces steam that contains the scent of lilies. With the help of a bamboo pipe, steam is passed to another vessel where a base oil captures the scent.

This method is called ‘Deg & Bhapka’ which is been used for more than 200 years by natural perfumers of the town.
