What is Jasmine Attar?

Jasmine Attar is a pure perfume oil extracted from jasmine sambac flowers. It has a pale yellow or brownish colour. The pure jasmine attar we sell online contains no alcohol.

It is known by many names: North Indians call it Ruh Bella, South Indians call it Ruh Motia, some also know it as Mogra Attar, while Arabians might spell it as Yasmin Attar. The name depends on where the flowers are cultivated.

Because of its beautiful floral fragrance, many kings and queens have been using this perfume in ancient times. That made jasmine a very precious flower and status symbol.

What does Jasmine Attar smell like?

How do we make our attars?

All our attars are made using the original attar-making process known as ‘Deg & Bhapka’ method. Fresh flowers are plucked in the morning.

We then put them in a large container (Deg) with water. They are heated from the bottom and the steam (containing the aroma) is passed to a small vessel (Bhapka). The aroma is absorbed by a base oil in Bhapka which is the final product.
